Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in an outpatient oncology setting
  • Assess patient and family readiness to learn, developmental levels, and factors affecting education; utilize appropriate patient education materials for the population served
  • Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care
  • Identify and address discharge planning needs, cultural and ethnic considerations, and consult appropriate resources for patients with complex care issues
  • Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care practices while promoting a safe, clean, and secure environment

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA or ARC)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
  • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school of nursing
