Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an outpatient Oncology (GU/Uro Clinic) position at a teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency, with day shifts and no weekends or on-call.

Details

  • Outpatient oncology setting within a large academic teaching hospital
  • GU/Urology oncology clinic caring for patients with bladder, kidney, and prostate cancers
  • Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
  • No weekend or on-call requirements
  • Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
  • Patient ratio of 1:12
  • Epic EMR — experience required
  • Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

  • Active OH RN license or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Oncology nursing experience required
  • Proficiency in Epic EMR required
  • Core oncology skills required: IV therapy/infusions, port access and management, administration of blood and blood products, central line care, PICC line care, and cytotoxic spill management
  • Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
  • 2 professional references required: at least 1 from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable as the 2nd reference; coworker references are not accepted

  • RTO must be requested upfront and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the duration of the contract
  • Former employees of this facility are eligible after a 6-month separation period; current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are not eligible
  • Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after signing a contract — candidates outside Ohio may need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting site or complete a mailed packet upon receipt
  • Scrub color: Navy Blue
  • Preferred experience includes teaching hospital, charge RN, and Trauma Level I or II settings
  • Preferred skills include symptom management (nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, edema, altered mental status), chemotherapy administration, Foley catheter insertion, phlebotomy, and post-surgical care
