Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for a BMT Oncology unit requiring chemotherapy certification and MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Inpatient BMT Oncology unit within an acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Average daily census of 30 across 32 beds
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required throughout the Oncology department based on daily needs, not limited to a single unit
• Care includes autologous stem cell transplants and chemotherapy administration
• EPIC charting system used

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification required
• Minimum 1 year of oncology/chemo experience required
• Experience with accessing/managing ports, central line and PICC line care, and central line blood draws
• Experience administering blood and blood products, IVs, antibiotics, and antiemetics
• Foley catheter insertion/management experience
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias experience
• Isolation precautions/PPE experience
• Must pass Relias EKG exam covering interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Additional Information

• Provide direct care for oncology patients including those undergoing stem cell transplants and chemotherapy
• Manage oncologic emergencies and monitor for chemotherapy-related complications
• Support patients with hematologic malignancies including leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma
• Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center
• Navy blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week
• Previous BJC permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers with 18 months of prior service at this facility must complete a 3-month break in service before returning
