Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric Oncology position requiring pediatric experience and specialized chemotherapy/oncology certifications.

Details

• Work in the Oncology unit of a hospital environment specializing in pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant care
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Every other weekend work required
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, PALS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), and APHON
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Pediatric experience required
• Skilled in chemotherapy administration, biotherapy, and management of oncologic emergencies
• Experience with central line and port care, IV therapy, and infusion pump management
• Proficient in symptom management and recognition of treatment side effects
• Knowledge of bone marrow transplant care including graft-versus-host disease management
• One supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant patients
• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and blood products following safety protocols
• Coordinate care with pediatric team and provide patient/family education and support
• Manage oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, and sepsis
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions or declinations accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
• Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must not have worked there within the past 6 months
• RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
