Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for night shifts, requiring 2 years of acute care experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

• Inpatient oncology unit within a 36-bed hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00), various days of the week
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 on day shift and 1:5 on night shift, with flexibility based on staffing needs
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope, including to sister facilities based on facility needs
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
• Trauma Level II hospital experience required
• Prior experience in environments with flexible staffing ratios required
• Comfortable managing oncology-specific skills including IV therapy, port access/management, central line and PICC line care, and chemotherapy administration
• Experience recognizing and responding to oncologic emergencies (e.g., tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, sepsis, hemorrhage)
• Experience with symptom management for oncology patients (e.g., nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, altered mental status)
• Oncology certification (OCN or ONS/ONCC) preferred but not required
• Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care to inpatient oncology patients, including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Manage oncologic emergencies and provide psychosocial and symptom management support
• Perform procedures such as central line care, wound care, and Foley catheter management as needed
• Navy scrub color required
• Completion of facility-specific modules required within the first week of assignment
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during select weeks
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates may be considered at a reduced bill rate if residing less than 75 miles from the facility
• Previous UCHealth employees must disclose prior employment history for eligibility review
