Join a leading acute-care hospital as a PCU Registered Nurse in Charleston, WV, specializing in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Step Down. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work with post-op open heart and other cardiothoracic surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring. We are looking for dedicated RNs to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide care for patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a focus on post-op open heart and cardiothoracic surgeries.
• Monitor patient conditions and perform necessary interventions.
• Assist with chest tube insertion, management, and removal.
• Manage central lines and external/internal pacemakers.
• Utilize wound vacs as necessary.
• Float within scope to meet facility needs as required.

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Experience with chest tube management and central line insertion.
• Willingness to float as needed and accommodate blocked schedule requests.
• WV RN license in hand for submission.
• COVID-19 vaccine required; medical/religious exemptions considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Must comply with the 100-mile radius rule (75-99 miles can be sent for facility approval).
• Permanent employees cannot return as travelers for 3 years after last date worked.
• Limit holiday RTO requests to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays.
