Job Summary The Operating Room (OR) registered nurse (RN) and surgical technologist (CST) position is located in a surgical hospital facility. This role involves providing perioperative care during diverse surgical procedures such as total joints, hip replacements, plastic surgery, and robotic-assisted surgeries. The position offers a dynamic environment with a focus on patient safety and surgical efficiency, requiring adaptable and team-oriented professionals.
Job Details
Schedule: Days shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Work days include 6 to 7 days plus one weekend per month, with a potential for 3x12 hour shifts or 4x10 hour shifts.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have valid certification as a registered nurse (RN) or certified surgical technologist (CST), with at least 3 years of experience in OR perioperative settings. Education requirements include an active license or certification applicable to the role. Location requirements include availability to work at the surgical hospital facility. No experience minimum is specified; however, previous surgical experience is strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with experience in orthopedics, plastics, podiatry, or robotic surgery are preferred. Previous experience performing total joints, hip replacements, and other specialized surgeries is highly desirable.
Additional Information: This role entails assisting with patient positioning, prepping, monitoring surgical equipment, and supporting the surgical team during complex procedures. Knowledge of OR protocols, sterile techniques, and surgical instrumentation is essential. Candidates should possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to participate in trauma call at the main unit.
