Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in ISSAQUAH, WA. This position involves providing specialized perioperative patient care within a busy surgical environment. The role includes supporting various surgical specialties, managing pre- and post-operative care, and ensuring adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols.
Job Details:
- Shift: Days, 12 hours shift hours from 7 am to 7 pm, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, 2 years of relevant OR experience, adaptable to other campuses, experience with operative procedures including Robotics and ENT with endoscope experience preferred, scrub experience preferred
- Preferred Qualifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, experience with complex procedures such as robotic surgeries, neuro/spine, and orthopedic surgeries, familiarity with electronic charting systems
- Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Special Procedures and Equipment: Robotics procedure sedation, blood and blood product administration, drains, epidural pumps, PICC/central lines, port-a-cath, vascular device access, wound vacs
- Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, pediatrics, geriatrics
- Additional Unit Details: Support for orthopedic, general surgery, urology, gynecology, spine, ENT, neuro/spine, OB-GYN, plastics, trauma, and vascular surgeries; inpatient in approximately 30% of cases, outpatient in 70%; pediatrics in 10% of cases
- On-Call Requirements: 12-hour shifts, evenly divided among approximately 15 RNs, support for weekend coverage only, on-call support available during weekdays, weekends, and holidays as specified
- Travel and Certification References: Two references covering at least 1 year during the last 3 years, with experience for charge nurses or lead roles; modules are non-billable, averaging 16 hours, completed pre-start and annually
