Job Summary: Operating Room (OR) Nurse Houston, Texas. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a busy orthopedic surgical unit. The role requires collaboration with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient outcomes during orthopedic procedures, including large joints and spine surgeries. It offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with state-of-the-art technology and a dedicated staff.
Job Details:
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, proven experience in orthopedic surgery, familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record system, ability to work day shifts, and candidates with large joint and spine orthopedic experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with total joints and spine procedures, excellent team collaboration skills.
Float: Float rotation may be required.
Additional Information: The unit employs approximately 70 staff members, with a focus on orthopedic surgeries such as large joints, hand, feet, scopes, and spine. The unit maintains a professional dress code with sky blue scrubs. Staff are expected to report at 6:45 am for a pre-shift huddle, and the shift concludes at 5:15 pm. Call is required approximately four times per month, limited to weekdays only. The department emphasizes employee engagement and patient satisfaction, achieving over 90% patient satisfaction levels. The unit is equipped with modern orthopedic surgical technology and fosters a collaborative work environment.
