Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Overlook is responsible for providing high-quality perioperative nursing care in a surgical setting. The role involves direct patient care during pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases, ensuring safety, effective communication, and patient satisfaction.

Job Details

• Position Description: The OR Nurse demonstrates assessment skills, comprehensive clinical knowledge, and the ability to deliver appropriate patient care from Pediatric to Geriatric populations. Responsibilities include performing systematic assessments, ensuring documentation accuracy, maintaining patient safety, and supporting surgical procedures with knowledge of equipment and protocols.
• Certifications, Education, and Experience: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Licensure as a Registered Nurse. BLS certification is required. A minimum of 1 year of operating room experience is preferred.
• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Responsibilities: Supporting the completion of patient testing, evaluating pre-admission testing orders, supporting perioperative team responsibilities, and actively engaging patients and families in pre-operative and post-operative education.
• Physical Requirements: As defined by Occupational Safety/OM.
• Skills: Assessment, clinical skills, emergency equipment and procedures, documentation, patient education, adherence to policies and procedures, understanding of national patient safety goals, universal protocol, safe transfer techniques, body mechanics, knowledge of conditions, diagnoses, procedures, equipment, and perioperative assessments.
