Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2 years of acute OR experience and ortho/spine/joint replacement expertise.

Details

  • Work in the Operating Room unit of a 488-bed acute care hospital
  • Unit has 29 beds with staffing of 1 Charge RN, 2-3 RNs, 2 Techs, and a clinical coordinator per shift
  • Patient to staff ratio of 3:1
  • Procedures performed include joint replacement, ENT, ortho, spine, urology, vascular, podiatry, thoracic surgery, and plastic surgery
  • Uses equipment including x-ray, preoperative equipment, EKG/electrocardiography, and works alongside anesthesiologists and lab staff
  • Uses Meditech EMR
  • 4-day work week schedule with 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM shift
  • Rotating weekends are a possibility
  • On-call requirements include 2 weeknight calls (7pm-7am), 2 weekend 24-hour calls, and 1 holiday 24-hour call within a 4-week period
  • Must be able to scrub in and circulate, with knowledge of all service lines

Requirements

  • Active FL or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of current experience in an acute OR setting required
  • Ortho, spine, and joint replacement experience required, including knee and hip replacement
  • PALS and CNOR certifications preferred
  • Prior charge experience preferred
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
  • Two professional references required

Additional Information

  • Responsible for observation, assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care
  • Strong candidates are dedicated, reliable, detail-oriented in charting, and demonstrate excellent bedside manner and critical thinking skills
  • Scrub color must be navy blue or royal blue; surgical-type scrubs are not acceptable
  • Facility is Joint Commission Gold Seal accredited and recognized as a comprehensive stroke facility and Blue Distinction Center for stroke care
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
