Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse position located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized perioperative care for a range of complex surgical procedures within a Tier 5 healthcare environment. The nurse will be integral to supporting kidney transplants, robotic surgeries with the Da Vinci Xi system, gynecological procedures, and urological operations, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS certification (American Heart Association), at least 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the operating room specialty, and experience with inpatient settings.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with charge duties, charting systems (Epic), patient ratio experience, and trauma level I or II experience are preferred.
  • Certifications: BLS, RN license.
  • Skills: Proficiency in abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, blood and blood products administration, anterior/posterior repair procedures, cystectomy, cystoscopy, operation of Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, infection control, laparoscopic-assisted cases, laser safety, Urologic robotic surgery, and trauma protocols.
  • Additional Information: The assignment requires float as needed, strict pass/fail telemetry testing with two attempts, and completion of a cardiac interpretation review course if initial attempts are unsuccessful. The facility is a Magnet-designated hospital, ranked Wisconsins #1 hospital, and recognized nationally as a leading teaching and referral center.
