Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Operating Room – Anchorage, AK 99508

Start Date: August 31, 2026

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts (shift times vary between 06:45-19:15 or 09:00-21:30). Weekend coverage required. Call limited to coverage for call-offs only. Guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period.

Highlights:

  • 13-week travel assignment at a 407-bed Magnet-designated acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center
  • Work with advanced surgical technology including XI Robot, Stealth, and Mazor Robot Spine systems
  • Diverse surgical case mix including trauma, bariatric, orthopedic/spine, neuro, gynecology, ENT, urology, and vascular procedures
  • 18 operating rooms with a daily census of 40 cases serving all patient age groups from neonates to geriatrics
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including lift teams, pharmacy, transportation, and interpretation services
  • Free parking and Epic charting system

Requirements:

  • Active Alaska RN license required (pending licenses accepted for submission but must be in hand for offer)
  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required
  • BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR preferred
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers not accepted
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declination not accepted)
  • Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
  • Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
  • Ability to float to like units within scope as needed
