Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in a healthcare facility located within the state of New Mexico. This role involves floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles, providing direct patient care utilizing the nursing process. The position requires assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient needs and responses, ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centered care during assigned shifts.

Job Details

• Shift: Days, 8 hours, minimum 40 hours per week, from 06:30 AM Monday through Friday.
• Required Qualifications: Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN); State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License; BLS certification; minimum of 2 years current experience in a large Operating Room; ability to scrub; must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment; must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.
• Preferred Qualifications: Epic experience preferred but not required; on-site training available; experience in Orthopedics, Otolaryngology (EENT), and/or vascular procedures is a plus.
• Responsibilities: Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care during shifts; coordinate patient care with the healthcare team and patients' families; administer medications and treatments as prescribed; ensure patient and family education and discharge planning; supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel; complete competency testing per unit standards.
• Certifications and Licenses: Current Nursing License in New Mexico or a Compact State; BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred and must be completed through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
