Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract in Rochester, NY, requiring a minimum of 3 years of OR experience across specialties including ortho, neuro, vascular, and thoracic surgery.
Details
- Hospital-based Operating Room setting
- Diverse surgical caseload including orthopedic/total joint and trauma, neurosurgery, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic procedures
- Extensive procedural scope including bariatric, colorectal, ENT, plastics, spine, and robotic surgery (Da Vinci Xi)
- Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (9:00–19:30)
- On-call required
- Epic EMR preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required (pending license not accepted)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required
- Experience across multiple surgical specialties required, including ortho/total joint and trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic
- Proficiency in phlebotomy and IV placement required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Teal scrubs required
- Facility will try to accommodate block scheduling but it is not guaranteed
- Minimal time-off requests preferred; all RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
