Operating Room Nurse in San Luis Obispo, California. This role involves assisting surgeons and anesthesiologists, coordinating equipment, supplies, and staff during surgical procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative phase. The position is represented by CNA and requires active participation in patient care planning, assessment, and nursing treatment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting on 08/03/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred; one year previous full-time experience in the operating room; current RN license in state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent certification; facility-specific license/certifications include AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR); PALS certification.
  • Essential Functions: Competent in circulating during surgical procedures; knowledgeable of aseptic technique; skilled in operating all routine operating room equipment; able to prepare patients for surgery including anatomical positioning; capable of patient care planning and assessment; handle and dispose of biohazardous materials safely; access and utilize facility information systems; ensure patient safety and emergency preparedness; document tissue temperature and package integrity; perform unit-specific work during downtime.
  • Additional Information: Call responsibility includes at least one night per week and one weekend per schedule, with potential for additional shifts based on need.
