Job Summary:
Operating Room Nurse in San Luis Obispo, California. This position entails assisting surgeons and anesthesiologists, coordinating equipment, supplies, and staff during surgical procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative phase. The role involves patient care planning, assessment, and nursing treatments; the position is represented by CNA.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shifts; Day/Evening, 8-hour shifts, minimum 40 hours per week, starting 08/03/2026.
• Required Qualifications: Current RN license in California; Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred; at least 2 years of full-time operating room experience; Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from approved vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR).

• Essential Functions:

  • Competent to circulate in the Operating Room during surgical procedures.
  • Knowledgeable of and applies principles of aseptic technique.
  • Capable of operating all routine surgical equipment safely.
  • Able to prepare patients for surgery, including anatomical positioning.
  • Experienced in pre, intra, and post-procedure patient care planning and assessment.
  • Skilled in handling biohazardous materials safely.
  • Proficient in accessing facility information systems for patient care and operational needs.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to emergency situations, hazardous materials, life safety, and medical equipment.
  • Documents tissue temperature and package integrity, manages tissue delivery following manufacturer guidelines.
  • Utilizes downtime effectively for tasks such as chart auditing, restocking, cleaning, and training.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
