Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position requiring open heart and vascular surgery experience with weekend call responsibilities.

Details

Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) unit
Unit averages 6 cases per day
Handles open heart surgery and vascular cases
Weekday shift schedule from 06:30-14:30
Weekend call required
13-week assignment

Requirements

Active RN license (SC or Compact) currently in hand
Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA only)
Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience required
Confident experience performing open heart surgery and vascular cases
Computer skills for utilizing patient care programs

Additional Information

Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical examination, and diagnostic data analysis
Delegate, supervise, and evaluate activities of other team members while executing interventions in urgent situations
Complete verification of Safe Surgery checklist per service excellence standards
Prep operating room and position patients for procedures
Perform circulating duties with efficiency and speed
Serve as communication liaison between family and operating team members
Assist with control and maintenance of supplies and equipment
Willingly participate in assigned call as scheduled
Maintain professional image and excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers
