Pay Breakdown:

  • Weekly Gross: $3,004
  • W2:  $38/hr.
  • Stipend:  $1,484 Weekly

Requirements:

  • NY State RN license - Required
  • Minimum 3 years of recent OR RN experience - Required
  • Must Have Travel experience
  • Diverse-Need experience in ortho-total joint and trauma, Neuro, GYN/Urology, Vascular, Thoracic
  • Current BLS AHA certifications - Required

Job Summary:
We're seeking an experienced Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a 13-week assignment with a leading healthcare facility. The OR RN is responsible for providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures. This role ensures a safe, sterile surgical environment, advocates for patients throughout the perioperative process, and collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. The ideal candidate is skilled in circulating, patient assessment, surgical safety, and maintaining the highest standards of perioperative care.


 

Duties

Assess patients preoperatively and verify medical history, allergies, laboratory results, and informed consent.

Prepare the operating room with the appropriate surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for scheduled procedures.

Maintain a sterile field and adhere to aseptic techniques and infection prevention protocols throughout each procedure.

Serve as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures, coordinating activities within the operating room.

Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and implementation of safety measures to prevent injury.

Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and sharps before, during, and after procedures according to policy.

Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products as prescribed and within the RN scope of practice.

Monitor patient status throughout surgery, including vital signs and overall condition, and promptly communicate changes to the surgical team.

Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment, electrosurgical units, suction devices, positioning equipment, and other OR technology.

Assist with specimen collection, labeling, handling, and documentation according to facility protocols.
