Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with 4+ years of OR experience across General Surgery, Neuro, Ortho, Transplant, and GYN service lines for a fast-paced surgical unit.

Details

  • Operating Room unit supporting service lines including Bariatrics, Urology, Neurology, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Transplant, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 10:30 to 21:00
  • Weekend and call requirements are variable and discussed during interview
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice, including to Outpatient as needed
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 4 years of Operating Room experience required prior to travel
  • Required experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedic surgical procedures
  • Experience with specific procedures including ALIF, craniotomy, kyphoplasty, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, XLIF, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, thyroidectomy, Whipple, arthroscopy, fracture reductions, and total joint replacement
  • Experience with gynecological procedures including hysterectomy, colporrhaphy, tubal ligation, D&C, and laparoscopic assisted procedures
  • Transplant OR experience required, including intestinal, kidney, liver, organ donation, and pancreas procedures
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Does not accept first-time travelers
  • Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) highly preferred at time of consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct surgical support across a wide range of specialties in a high-acuity OR setting
  • Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance results in a two-week push back due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
  • No holiday RTO approved during blackout dates of 11/23-11/29 and 12/21-1/3
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, all RTO must be finalized at time of consideration
  • No RTO or schedule change requests permitted after offer or during orientation week
  • Holiday coverage required for Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day, with limited holiday RTO only if three holidays fall within the assignment
  • Shift and contract length are firm with no alternate schedule requests permitted
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previous Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS staff must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Travelers previously cancelled or DNR'd from a Piedmont facility must complete one successful assignment elsewhere before reapplying
