Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at an acute care hospital in Santa Rosa, CA, requiring Level I trauma experience and proficiency across multiple surgical specialties including neuro, vascular, and ortho.
Details
- Acute care hospital OR setting with 277 staffed beds
- Surgical specialties include trauma, neuro, vascular, orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, urology, ENT, thoracic, bariatric, plastics, and robotics
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts with variable start times of 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM
- Weekend shifts required
- On-call is required and distributed equally among all nursing staff approximately every 6 weeks, with up to 6–8 call shifts per 6-week period, which may include nights, evenings, and weekends (8-hour shifts)
- Occasional night shift coverage may be needed within the contract period
- Floating required within the hospital and to affiliate or sister facilities nearby
- Charting system: Epic (required)
- Surgical robotic platform: Da Vinci Xi Surgical System (preferred)
- Scrubs provided for OR
Requirements
- Active CA RN license in hand at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 3 years of OR RN experience required; 5 years preferred
- Level I trauma OR experience required
- Experience across multiple surgical specialties required: trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic
- Epic EMR experience required
- Prior travel RN experience required
- 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Must be able to take call, including nights, evenings, and weekends
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted; a 50-mile radius rule applies and affects pay rate eligibility
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
- Holiday coverage required: must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's)
- Refusal to float between sister facilities may result in termination of assignment
- Block scheduling is available at manager's discretion
