Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR Circulating RN for a 13-week Operating Room assignment requiring prior travel experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Operating Room department in a Short Term Acute Care, Level III Trauma Center with 104 staffed beds
  • Patient ratio of 1:1
  • 8-hour day shifts alternating between 7:00 AM-3:30 PM and 11:00 AM-7:30 PM based on need
  • On-call required: 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend every 6 weeks
  • Weekend work required for call only
  • 20-minute callback time required when on call
  • No floating between units required, though travelers should be prepared to float within the facility
  • Epic EMR used for charting
  • No fee for parking

Requirements

  • Active WA or Compact RN license required at time of submission
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of OR circulating experience required
  • Previous OR charge experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Experience with General, Ortho, Neuro, GYN, OB (C/S), ENT, Plastics, Vascular, and Eye surgeries preferred
  • Skills in procedures such as abdominoplasty, anterior cervical fusion, laminectomy/discectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, C-sections, cystoscopy, open reduction of fractures, and total joint replacement preferred
  • Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and Mako Surgical System preferred
  • Experience with Hana Table equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedure required
  • 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required, may include Charge RNs/Leads

Additional Information

  • Provide circulating RN support across a wide range of surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, neuro, gynecologic, obstetric, ENT, plastics, vascular, and eye surgeries
  • Scrubs of any color are accepted across all units
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Candidates who previously worked at this facility as permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius
  • Local candidates are accepted at a lower pay rate within a 50-mile radius
  • All RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of application, as post-submission RTO requests are unlikely to be approved
  • Travelers should be prepared to float within the facility as needed
