Individualizes patient care according to the procedure and type of anesthesia across the continuum of care. Assesses patient reaction and understanding of procedure/instructions. Job Function: 08. Responsibility and Accountability. Contributes to the perioperative team by assuming responsibility and accountability for directing patient care by prioritizing the care of patient’s depending on their needs and any changes in their condition. Job Function: 09. Patient Education and Chart Completion. Assesses patient’s understanding of surgical procedure/instructions, actively including the patient and family members in teaching. Performs pre-operative and postoperative assessment and education. Job Function: 10. Duties Specific to PAT RN. Supports the completion of patient testing in a timely manner.
