Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position specializing in urology, gynecology, and kidney/pancreas transplant surgeries with robotic surgical experience required.

Details

  • Work in the Operating Room of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
  • Specialized in GU/GYN/Transplant surgeries including kidney, pancreas, and organ procurement cases
  • Performs procedures including kidney transplant, hysterectomy, nephrectomy, cystectomy, ureteroscopy, HOLEP, and laparoscopic gynecological surgeries
  • Utilizes Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system for urologic and gynecologic robotic procedures
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Day/Evening shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts weekly (0640-1910), with potential for one biweekly shift (0940-2210)
  • Weekend rotation required
  • Weekday call requirement
  • Floating required as needed

Requirements

  • Active RN license (WI or Compact) currently in hand
  • BLS certification required (AHA only)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being submitted to
  • Experience required in Urology, Gynecology/Oncology, kidney transplant, pancreas transplant, and robotic surgery
  • Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System required
  • Skills in abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, anterior/posterior repair, and laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures
  • Skills in cystectomy, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and TURP
  • Knowledge of administration of blood and blood products, infection control, and laser safety
  • Experience with specimen handling/labeling and Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures
  • Experience with urinary bladder catheterization required
  • Knowledge of emergency management, code response, fire safety, latex allergy protocols, and malignant hyperthermia management
  • Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with strict passing criteria for adult and pediatric rhythm identification

Additional Information

  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Ranked Wisconsin's #1 hospital and recognized as a leading teaching institution and referral center
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
