Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN with combined OR Circulator, Pre-Op, and PACU experience for a surgical services role requiring rotational call coverage.

Details

• Facility with 3 OR suites, 3 PACU/Pre-Op bays, and 1 anesthesia provider
• Surgical case types include general, OB/GYN, ophthalmology (cataract), and occasional orthopedic procedures
• Day shift hours 6:30am-2:30pm Monday through Friday, with occasional late days to complete surgical caseloads
• Rotational call coverage averaging 1-2 days per week plus every other or every third weekend depending on staffing
• Holiday coverage required as part of rotational schedule
• Must be able to function across all three specialty areas: Pre-Op, OR Circulator, and PACU

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Minimum 6 years of nursing experience required, with 3 years of combined Pre-Op/OR/PACU experience preferred
• ACLS certification required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Scrub experience preferred
• Must be comfortable with long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious materials expected

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessments, documentation, circulating cases, patient recovery, and preparing patients for surgery
• Assists with processing surgical instruments and equipment in central sterilizing
• Provides patient education and emotional support throughout the surgical process
• Adheres to infection control standards and follows national guidelines from IAHCSMM, AORN, ASGE, and ASPAN
• Reports to the Surgical Services Manager or designee
• Requires strong communication skills and the ability to remain effective in high-stress situations
