Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room Float Pool position requiring thoracic/vascular experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Work in the OR Float Pool at a 1000+ bed Level 1 trauma hospital with a 56-bed OR (inpatient and outpatient) and 5 procedural rooms
• Focused on the thoracic/vascular team, including vascular and endovascular cases
• Patient population includes open heart, transplant, and trauma/neuro diagnoses
• Case types include neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms (cysto, bronch, lead extraction), ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary
• Adult patient population only; pediatric cases are handled at a separate Children's Hospital OR
• 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with variable scheduling based on unit needs
• Required to take four late stays during the 13-week contract based on unit needs
• May float between OR units within the facility but not between locations

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) required and must be on file at time of submission
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Thoracic/vascular experience required
• Proficiency in endovascular case circulation required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must have completed full COVID vaccine series or hold a valid exemption by start date

Additional Information

• Circulate for thoracic and vascular/endovascular surgical cases as part of a specialized team
• Late stay coverage may increase during summer and December due to higher case volumes
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate under the facility's radius rule of 75 miles
• No block schedule available; daily shift times vary based on unit needs
