Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with neurosurgical expertise, including craniotomies and complex spine procedures, for a travel contract at a Level II Trauma Center in Washington State.
Details
- Operating Room (OR) setting within a 629-bed short-term acute care hospital, Level II Trauma Center, and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
- Neurosurgical OR specialty, with full competency required in craniotomies and complex spine procedures
- Occasional floating to other services within the main OR, as well as between facilities within the state
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 2:45 PM)
- On-call required once per week and one weekend per six-week schedule; weekend requirement is on-call only
- Block schedules are not required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Teaching hospital environment
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
- Full competency in neurosurgical procedures including craniotomies and complex spine required
- Epic EMR experience required
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable OR specialty/setting
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Additional Information
- Responsible for scrubbing and/or circulating neurosurgical cases including craniotomies and complex spine, with occasional rotation to other OR services
- Any scrub color is permitted for RNs
- Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment
- Former permanent employees of this health system must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Minimal RTO is expected for this position
