Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a SC or compact RN license for a 13-week assignment involving diverse surgical specialties.

Details

• Acute care hospital Operating Room setting with 119 staffed beds
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (6:45a-3:15p)
• Weekend rotation typically every 4th weekend with weekday coverage
• On-call required on a rotational basis for weekday coverage (3pm-7am)
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
• Uses Epic charting system
• Surgical procedures span gynecology, general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, urology, ophthalmology, podiatry, and trauma
• Utilizes Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and Hana Table equipment

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand prior to start
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in a wide range of surgical procedures including hysterectomy, laparoscopic procedures, joint replacement, spinal fusion, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and cataract surgery

• During hurricane season (June-November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• First-time travel nurses will be considered for this position
• Previous MUSC staff (including PRN) must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Candidates must reside within 60 miles for local consideration; non-local candidates prioritized
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for approval consideration
