Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring 2+ years of OR experience and a broad range of surgical specialty skills.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in the Operating Room department
• 119 staffed beds
• 4x10 hour day shifts, 6:45am-3:15pm
• Weekend coverage required, typically every 4th weekend
• On-call required on a rotating basis, weekday call hours 3pm-7am
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
• Uses Epic charting system
• Surgical scrubs provided
• Case types include gynecology, general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, urology, podiatry, ophthalmology, and trauma procedures
• Utilizes Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and Hana Table

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact license required in hand prior to start
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Previous travel nurse experience required
• Experience with a broad range of surgical procedures including gynecological, orthopedic, neurological, general surgery, urological, podiatric, and ophthalmological cases
• SSN required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties in the OR
• Block scheduling requests may be submitted for approval but are not guaranteed
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
• Non-local candidates are prioritized; local radius rule is 60 miles
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All RTO must be submitted at time of application for consideration
• During hurricane season (June-November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
