Travel Nursing Job Details

Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida or a valid compact-state license, verifiable through Nursys at the time of submission
• At least 2 years of recent Operating Room Registered Nurse or perioperative nursing experience
• Strong orthopedic surgery and surgical nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Degree accreditation documentation must be available; candidates without degree accreditation documentation must have 5 years of relevant experience
• Prior travel nursing or travel RN experience preferred
• Ability to participate in required call coverage and remain flexible to float between operating room locations

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of the perioperative process
• Prepare operating rooms, surgical equipment, supplies, and patients for orthopedic and other surgical procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Maintain sterile technique and support an efficient, safe surgical workflow
• Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to changes before, during, and after procedures
• Document perioperative patient care accurately in Epic
• Provide required call coverage and adapt to assignments at other operating room locations when needed
