Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Operating Room for a Level 3 Trauma facility, requiring 5+ years of OR circulating experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Operating Room unit with 19 suites, 17 of which are blocked
• Averages 50 surgical cases per day across specialties including trauma, ortho trauma, ortho total joints, spine, hearts, MI vascular, GYN, GYN-Oncology, robotics, general, HPB, bariatrics, urology, ENT, eyes, pain, and plastics
• 12-hour day shifts, 7a-7p, working Friday/Saturday/Sunday
• Weekend rotation every 4th weekend, which may include scheduled shifts or call coverage
• On-call requirement averaging 6 call shifts per 6-week schedule with a 45-minute response time
• Call shifts may fall 11p-7a or 7a-7p/7p-7a on weekends
• No floating required
• Uses Epic EMR
• Facility is a Level 3 Trauma center, Stroke Center of Excellence, Bariatric Center of Excellence, and Chest Pain Center
• Bariatric Center of Excellence and Advanced Spine Surgery Certification unit designations

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• CNOR preferred but not required
• Minimum 5 years of OR nursing experience required
• Experience circulating in trauma, ortho trauma, ortho total joints, spine, hearts, MI vascular, GYN, GYN-Oncology, robotics, general, HPB, bariatrics, urology, ENT, eyes, pain, and plastics cases required
• Minimum 12 months core experience in OR specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within one year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration

• Support team includes Service Line Clinical Supervisors, Charge Nurses, Educators, ORAs, Unit Secretaries, and Tech Engineers
• Orientation includes NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation
• Travelers expected to work 75% of holidays
• RTO subject to manager approval
• Scrubs provided; free parking available
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Previous permanent employees of AHSE facilities must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
