Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent Operating Room Registered Nurse or perioperative nursing experience
• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Ohio
• Demonstrated knowledge of perioperative nursing standards, sterile technique, and surgical safety practices
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and maintain composure in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Strong patient assessment, communication, organization, and clinical judgment skills
• Completion of required clinical documentation, credential verification, health screening, background review, and specialty competency validation

Perioperative Nursing Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, supplies, and patients for scheduled surgical procedures
• Provide circulating and/or scrub support according to experience, competency, and procedural needs
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and promote compliance with surgical safety protocols
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team
• Monitor patient status throughout the perioperative experience and promptly communicate changes in condition
• Complete surgical counts, specimen handling, documentation, and patient-care records accurately
• Support safe patient positioning, transfer, handoff, and continuity of care
• Assist with room turnover and help maintain an organized, efficient operating room environment
