Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level II Trauma operating room requiring at least one year of experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Short term acute care hospital setting with 325 staffed beds
• Operating Room unit supporting general surgery, orthopedic, urology, thoracic, ENT, and trauma cases
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM
• Epic charting system preferred
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted site

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room experience required
• Community Hospital experience required
• Level II Trauma experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Skilled in scrubbing general, orthopedic, urology, thoracic, and trauma surgeries
• Experience with procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, arthroscopy, spinal fusion, nephrectomy, and thoracotomy
• Knowledge of infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, and universal protocol/time out procedures
• Experience with equipment such as cell saver and electrosurgical units
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide surgical nursing care across multiple specialties including general, orthopedic, urology, thoracic, and trauma surgery
• Participate in emergency management and fire safety protocols within the OR
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Candidates should submit all RTO and scheduling requests upfront, as post-submission requests may not be accommodated
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this assignment
• Response required regarding any prior work history with a Providence facility as permanent, travel, or per-diem staff
