Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a cancer hospital setting, requiring OH or compact RN license and prior circulating/scrubbing experience across multiple surgical specialties.

Details

• Operating Room setting within a cancer hospital and research center
• Day/Evening rotating schedule combining 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts to total 40 hours/week
• Shift options include 06:30-17:00, 06:30-19:00, and 10:30-20:30
• Call required as needed, including evening (1500-2300), night (2300-0700), and weekend (0700-1900, 1900-0700) shifts
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• Circulating and scrubbing responsibilities across multiple surgical specialties including neuro, thoracic, ENT, ortho, general surgery, plastics, urology, GU/GYN, free flaps, and robotics (Da Vinci)
• Oncology surgical experience required
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred
• Oncology surgical experience required
• Circulating and scrubbing experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Travel RN experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide circulating and scrubbing support across a wide range of surgical specialties including gynecology, plastics, neurology, general surgery, thoracic, ENT, urology, orthopedics, and robotics
• Assist with procedures using Da Vinci Xi and Da Vinci SP robotic surgical systems
• Maintain accurate patient records using Epic
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Knowledge of universal protocol (time out) procedures, infection control, laser and radiation safety, and specimen handling required
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted with contract and limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at any Ohio State University hospital location
