Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a minimum of 2 years OR experience and oncology surgical background for a cancer hospital operating room, requiring an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Operating Room unit at a cancer hospital setting
• Day/evening rotating schedule combining 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts to total 40 hrs/week
• Shift options include 06:30-17:00, 06:30-19:00, and 10:30-20:30
• Call responsibilities as needed, including evening (1500-2300), night (2300-0700), and weekend (0700-1900, 1900-0700) coverage
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Preferred surgical specialties include neuro, thoracic, ENT, ortho, general, plastics, urology, GU/GYN, free flaps, and robotics (Da Vinci)
• Oncology surgical experience preferred

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Oncology experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred
• Circulate and scrub experience preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide circulating and scrubbing support across a wide range of surgical specialties including gynecology, plastics, neurology, general surgery, thoracic, ENT, urology, and orthopedics
• Experience with robotic-assisted surgery systems such as Da Vinci Xi and Da Vinci SP preferred
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and maintain accurate records in EPIC
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon signing contract, as delays can impact start date
• Candidates who are extreme distances from Ohio will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently upon receipt
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role
