Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) will provide exceptional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This position requires a commitment to maintaining a safe and sterile environment, ensuring patient comfort, and collaborating effectively with the surgical team.

Shift Details

  • Shift Type: Days (Friday - Sunday)
  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Unit Information

  • Unit Type: Operating Room (OR)
  • Number of Suites: 17
  • Average Cases per Day: 35 on weekdays, 10 on weekends
  • Common Cases: Orthopedic, Neurological, General Surgery
  • Experience Required: Trauma experience preferred

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Operating Room RN
  • Required Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association

Scheduling and Orientation

  • Self-scheduling is available
  • Weekend shifts are from 7 AM to 7 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
  • No on-call requirements
  • Holiday coverage required if scheduled on a weekend
  • Orientation will take place on-site with a designated week for training

Additional Information

  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) System: EPIC
  • Provided dress code for scrubs
  • No floating required between units
  • Response time for emergencies: 30 minutes
