Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Level 2 Trauma experience and proficiency across multiple surgical specialties.

Details

• Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center hospital setting
• Operating Room unit performing advanced surgical procedures including robotic-assisted, structural heart, spine, cancer, orthopedic and women's health surgeries
• Uses Epic EMR
• Afternoon shift, 12-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
• On-call required 1 night per week and 1 weekend per month
• Weekend on-call requirement of 1 weekend per month

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required (compact license not accepted)
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN Operating Room experience required
• Level 2 Trauma experience required
• Proficiency in Ortho, Vascular, Neuro, Gen/Gyn, and Urology procedures required
• Recent travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Skills checklist pertinent to Operating Room specialty, current within 1 year
• 2 completed supervisory reference forms within the last two years

Additional Information

• Assess patient needs before and during surgical procedures while maintaining patient safety
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and document individualized care plans throughout surgical procedures
• Provide leadership and supervision to the OR team, including coordinating schedule changes and assembling equipment and supplies
• Assist anesthesia as necessary and monitor the sterile field
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, OR team, and ancillary departments
• Participate in staff development through preceptorship, in-services, and continuing education
• Hospital-provided dress code
• Local candidates considered within a 50-mile radius, limited to one 13-week contract at this facility
• Maximum of 5 days RTO may be requested
