Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with robotics and Level I Trauma experience for a 13-week night shift assignment at a busy acute care hospital.

Details

• General OR unit with 9 regular beds, 1 trauma bay, and 1 urgent bay
• Level I Trauma acute care setting
• Handles approximately 30 cases per day
• Uses Cerner and Surginet EMR systems
• Night shift schedule: Sunday-Tuesday, 18:30-07:00, 12-hour shifts
• No call required for the standard schedule, though on-call rotation is one weekend a month and one night a week as needed
• Rotates weekend coverage with staff
• Charge nurse and CSTs present on the unit
• RT and pharmacy support available 24/7
• Scrubs provided by facility
• May float to Lithotripsy (if skilled), Westgate, or AZ General Laveen campuses
• One week of floor-specific orientation provided
• Cares for general, ortho, robotics, plastics, trauma, ENT, spine, urology, GYN, neonate, high-risk c-section, donor, hand, and occasional eye surgery patients

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Level I Trauma, ortho trauma, and general OR experience required
• Robotics experience required
• Circulating experience required; scrub RN experience a strong plus
• BSN not required
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Must complete a pass/fail SIMs Lab skills check on day one of orientation, including Foley catheter insertion and maintenance of sterile field
• Additional lift, restraint, and wound care training provided during orientation for educational purposes
• Team structure includes 1 RN and 1 CST during the week; RN, CST, and a huck on weekends
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as verified by driver's license
• Candidates previously employed directly (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year are not eligible
