Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050–$2,160
• Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210

• Schedule: Full-time rotating day/evening schedule, generally totaling 40 hours per week
• Shift Duration: Combination of 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts, including day shifts such as 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., 6:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m., and 10:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m.
• Schedule Flexibility: Shift assignments vary according to unit needs; four 10-hour shifts, five 8-hour shifts, or a combination of two 8-hour and two 12-hour shifts may be utilized
• Call and Weekends: Call and weekend coverage may be required based on departmental needs
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatric patients
• Operating Room Environment: Approximately 20 surgical rooms with a broad range of complex procedures

Travel OR Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in good standing; compact or Ohio license must be in hand at the time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of recent operating room or perioperative nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Operating room circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS and CNOR certification preferred
• Recent Epic electronic medical record experience required
• Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Experience with oncology, thoracic, neurosurgical, ENT, orthopedic, general, plastic, urologic, gynecologic, robotic, or free-flap procedures preferred
• Ability to provide two professional references, including at least one reference from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal clinical leader
• Ability to complete required Ohio fingerprinting and credentialing processes promptly

Operating Room Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality perioperative nursing care throughout the surgical experience
• Circulate and scrub for a wide variety of adult and geriatric surgical procedures as qualified and assigned
• Prepare operating rooms, surgical equipment, supplies, medications, and specimens according to established standards
• Support procedures involving general surgery, thoracic surgery, oncology, orthopedics, spine, ENT, plastics, urology, gynecology, and robotic surgery
• Use Epic to maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient documentation
• Perform surgical safety checks, specimen handling and labeling, infection prevention practices, and Universal Protocol time-outs
• Recognize and respond appropriately to emergencies, including malignant hyperthermia, code situations, and changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to promote optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in scheduled call and weekend coverage as needed
