Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050–$2,160
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- End Date: February 1, 2027
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts with a rotating day/evening schedule
- Schedule: Full-time commitment of approximately 40 hours per week through a combination of 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts
- Shift Options: Approximately 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., 6:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m., or 10:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m., based on operating room needs
- Call and Weekends: Call and weekend coverage as needed
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
- Department Profile: Approximately 20 operating rooms with a daily census of about 45 patients
Operating Room RN Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent operating room Registered Nurse experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current Registered Nurse license in hand; compact or Ohio RN licensure accepted as applicable
- Current BLS or BCLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- CNOR certification preferred
- Current Epic electronic medical record experience required
- Recent circulating and scrubbing experience preferred
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Strong experience with complex surgical specialties, including general, thoracic, neurological, orthopedic, ENT, plastics, urology, gynecology, robotics, oncology, and free-flap procedures preferred
- Two professional references required, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
Operating Room Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care for adult and geriatric patients
- Circulate and scrub surgical cases according to experience and operating room department needs
- Support procedures across general, thoracic, ENT, orthopedic, neurological, plastics, urology, gynecology, and oncology services
- Assist with robotic, laparoscopic, vascular, spine, cardiac monitoring, free-flap, and other advanced surgical procedures
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, instruments, supplies, and specimens according to established protocols
- Maintain accurate perioperative documentation and patient records in Epic
- Apply infection prevention, specimen handling, radiation safety, laser safety, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia protocols
- Complete surgical time-outs and uphold Universal Protocol standards
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and the interdisciplinary care team to promote excellent patient outcomes
- Participate in rotating day/evening assignments, call coverage, and weekend needs as scheduled
