Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with required craniotomy and burr hole experience for a fast-paced surgical unit covering neuro/spine, ortho/trauma, and general/robotics/trauma cases.
Details
- Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
- Covers Neuro/Spine, Ortho/Trauma, and General/Robotics/Trauma surgical cases
- 1:1 patient ratio in the OR
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Schedule may include Mon/Tues/Thurs or Tues/Thurs/Fri rotations
- Call and late days required as needed
- Uses Da Vinci Xi Surgical System for robotic procedures
- Allscripts charting system preferred but not required
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- BLS certification required
- CNOR, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience required in service line
- Craniotomy and burr hole experience required
- Experience with trauma cases including amputations, burns, gunshot/stab wounds, and MVA with multiple injuries
- Experience with neurology procedures including anterior cervical fusion, cervical fusion, craniotomy, kyphoplasty, and laminectomy/discectomy
- Experience with orthopedic procedures including ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, arthrotomy, carpal tunnel release, and fracture reductions
- Experience with general surgery procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, and mastectomy
- Robotic surgery experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System preferred
- Trauma Level I or II hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Travel experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical specialties including neuro, ortho, trauma, and general/robotic surgery
- Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with a positive result resulting in automatic cancellation
- Candidates should avoid any products, including CBD, that could result in a positive drug screen upon arrival
- Clinicians must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer or provide a completion plan within that timeframe
- Modules are completed during orientation and average 6-8 hours
- RN/LVN candidates must reside within 150 miles of the facility
- Local candidates are not accepted
- Previous perm staff must be separated from employment for at least one year before returning as a traveler
