Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality surgical patient care through assessment, planning, and implementation of nursing care before, during, and after surgery. The position primarily involves circulating in the operating room, with scrub experience considered a valuable asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and plan appropriate nursing interventions.
• Maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment.
• Provide pre and post-operative patient education.
• Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout the surgical care continuum.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care across various surgical specialties.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of current operating room experience.
• Experience in vascular surgery and orthopedic surgery is required.
• Travel experience is preferred.
• EPIC electronic medical record experience is mandatory.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Must have both scrub and circulate experience.
• New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate is required.
• Candidate must have access to a vehicle.
