Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (10:45–23:15)
Schedule: 36 hours/week; rotational weekends; holidays as scheduled
Patient Ratio: 1:1
Charting System: Epic
Float Required: Yes – within specialty and to sister Laurel campus as needed
Call Requirement: Yes – 5–6 calls per 4-week period, including one weekend call
Note: 2–3 years OR experience required; first-time travelers considered with strong General OR, robotics, scrub, and circulating experience. Level II Trauma Center. Must arrive within 30 minutes when called in.

Position Overview:
Provide perioperative nursing care in a Level II Trauma OR supporting a broad range of surgical specialties, including trauma, general surgery, urology, podiatry, orthopedics, plastics, neurology, gynecology, ENT, vascular, cardiac, bariatrics, and robotic procedures.

Job duties:

• Scrub and circulate for complex surgical procedures across multiple specialties, including trauma, orthopedic, neuro, vascular, cardiac, and general surgery.
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to infection-control standards.
• Perform surgical counts, specimen handling/labeling, universal protocol, and procedural time-outs throughout operative cases.
• Assist with advanced surgical procedures including robotic, laparoscopic, cardiovascular, neurological, and trauma surgeries.
• Monitor patients intraoperatively and support safe administration of blood products, conscious sedation monitoring, IV access, wound management, and emergency response.

Requirements:
License: Active MD RN or Compact RN License
Experience: 3 years OR experience required; 2 years may be considered with strong experience; strong General OR and robotics experience; scrub and circulate skills required
Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred; CNOR and NIHSS preferred
Other requirement: Community hospital experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred; must be comfortable floating within specialty and to Laurel campus.

Patient Diagnoses: Trauma injuries, orthopedic conditions, neurological disorders, cardiovascular disease, gynecologic conditions, general surgical conditions, vascular disease, urologic conditions, ENT conditions, bariatric conditions, and other surgical diagnoses across the listed specialties.
