Join a collaborative perioperative team as an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) in Westwood, NJ, for a 13-week travel nursing contract.

This on-site New Jersey travel nursing opportunity is ideal for an experienced OR RN who is confident circulating across orthopedic, spine, robotic, thoracic, and general surgery cases. You will support a busy hospital operating room with approximately 15–18 daily cases across six operating rooms while caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Located in Bergen County, Westwood offers a welcoming suburban setting with convenient access to parks, local dining, shopping, and the greater New York metropolitan area.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Local Candidate Policy: Candidates residing within 50 miles are not eligible

Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse license in New Jersey or a qualifying compact multistate license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of operating room nursing or perioperative nursing experience
• Strong orthopedic and spine operating room experience
• Experience circulating orthopedic, spine, robotic, thoracic, and general surgery cases
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Epic electronic health record and clinical documentation experience
• Ability to support a broad range of surgical procedures while maintaining a high standard of patient safety
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Circulate surgical cases in orthopedic, spine, robotics, thoracic, general, gynecologic, urologic, and other specialties
• Prepare operating rooms, supplies, equipment, and surgical instrumentation for scheduled procedures
• Support procedures including joint replacement, spinal fusion, laminectomy, thoracotomy, lung resection, laparoscopic surgery, colorectal robotics, urologic robotics, and general surgery
• Operate safely around specialty equipment, including Da Vinci robotic systems, Mako robotic technology, cell saver equipment, electrosurgical units, and fiber-optic equipment
• Complete patient identification, specimen handling, surgical counts, time-out procedures, and other universal protocol requirements
• Maintain compliance with infection control, radiation safety, laser safety, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia protocols
• Administer and document blood products according to policy and support intraoperative patient monitoring
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team to promote safe, efficient patient care
• Document care accurately in Epic and contribute to a professional, patient-centered surgical environment
