Description

American Traveler is seeking an Operating Room RN with orthopedic and spine circulating experience for a day shift assignment requiring a NJ or compact RN license.

Details

• Circulate in orthopedics, spine, robotics, and general surgery cases
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Wide range of surgical specialties including thoracic, general, orthopedic, urology, bariatrics, ENT, gynecology, neurology, plastics, podiatry, and robotics
• Utilizes advanced equipment such as cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Hana Table
• Robotic surgery experience with Da Vinci and Mako Surgical Systems
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (NJ State or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room RN experience required
• Strong orthopedic surgical experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with universal protocol (time out) procedures, specimen handling, and infection control practices

Additional Information

• Provide circulating RN support across a broad range of surgical specialties including orthopedics, spine, and robotics
• Perform emergency management duties including fire safety, code response, and malignant hyperthermia protocols
• Administer blood and blood products and maintain wound management standards
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• Previous staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be accepted
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
