Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring circulating experience and prior travel nursing experience at a Level 1 trauma hospital.

Details

• Based in the Main OR of a 1000+ bed hospital with 56 OR beds (inpatient and outpatient) and 5 procedural rooms
• Level 1 trauma facility
• 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 9a-9p, with variable scheduling based on unit need
• No block schedule available
• Late stay required, averaging four late stays per 13-week period
• Adult patient population only; no pediatric cases (separate Children's Hospital OR)
• Handles all case types including neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms (cysto, bronch, lead extraction), ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary
• Excludes cardiac, transplant, trauma/neuro service lines
• May float between ORs but not between facility locations
• 26-week contract length only; shorter durations will not be considered

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) required on file at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Circulating experience required; scrub experience not required
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Orientation start dates available on 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, and 11/16
• Excessive time off cannot be approved; expected to work 2 of 3 holidays
• Late stay coverage needed when OR is running behind schedule, typically extending shifts by up to an hour, with increased frequency during summer and December
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
• Radius rule of 75 miles applies for standard travel rate eligibility
