Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – 13-Week Contract in York, Pennsylvania
Experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses are invited to join a dynamic surgical team in York, PA. This travel nursing opportunity is ideal for an OR RN who can independently scrub and circulate across multiple specialties, support robotic surgery, and deliver safe perioperative care in a Level II trauma setting. Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,170–$2,290

- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10-hour day shifts
- Shift Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Call: Approximately 2–3 call shifts within a 6-week scheduling matrix with a 30-minute response requirement
- Weekends: Approximately 3–4 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling matrix
- Holidays: Holiday coverage as needed; travelers may be expected to work two of three major holiday periods
- Floating: As needed
Operating Room Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania with no license restrictions
- At least 3 years of recent operating room nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Level II trauma experience required; Level I trauma experience preferred
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Epic charting experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with both scrubbing and circulating preferred
- Independent competency with the da Vinci Xi surgical system required; experience with the da Vinci DV5 is a plus
- Demonstrated proficiency in robotic general, gynecologic, thoracic, and urologic procedures
- Ability to independently support robotics, orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, urology, bariatrics, ENT, plastics, vascular, thoracic, and trauma procedures
- Ability to care for patients across the lifespan, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
- Willingness to work assigned weekends, holidays, call shifts, and floating assignments
Operating Room RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, efficient perioperative nursing care for a wide range of surgical patients.
- Scrub and circulate for general, robotic, orthopedic, gynecologic, urologic, bariatric, ENT, plastics, vascular, thoracic, and trauma procedures.
- Operate and support robotic surgical procedures using the da Vinci Xi and DV5 systems.
- Prepare operating rooms, surgical equipment, instrumentation, supplies, and medications according to procedure requirements.
- Maintain sterile technique and uphold infection prevention, surgical safety, and universal protocol standards.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary support teams throughout the perioperative process.
- Assist with complex procedures such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery, vascular procedures, thoracic surgery, trauma cases, total joint replacement, spinal procedures, and gastrointestinal surgery.
- Respond to urgent and emergent surgical needs, including trauma and code response situations.
- Complete accurate documentation in Epic and provide comprehensive handoff communication.
- Participate in call, weekend, holiday, and floating assignments based on unit needs.
