Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Maryland or compact license eligibility
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience in a community hospital setting required
• Strong general surgery background with a broad perioperative skill set
• Proficiency with Cerner preferred/required
• Ability to work flexible day shifts and participate in a call rotation
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical procedures
• Prepare the operating room, verify equipment, and support universal protocol compliance
• Assist with circulating duties for general surgery and specialty cases as assigned
• Monitor patients throughout the perioperative process and respond appropriately to clinical needs
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure smooth case flow
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Support infection prevention, specimen handling, and safe medication practices
• Participate in on-call coverage and flexible scheduling as required by the unit
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented surgical care environment
