Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring AZ or compact RN licensure and 1-2 years of acute care OR experience.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of an acute-care hospital
• Unit consists of 6 ORs and 1 endo suite
• Patient population is 70% adult, 28% geriatric, and 2% pediatric
• Case mix includes general, endo, ortho, OB, and GYN procedures, including scheduled and emergency C-sections
• 90% outpatient and 10% inpatient case volume
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Uses new Olympus laparoscopic/endo equipment, processors, and monitors, as well as STERIS beds and a HANA table
• Charts in MEDHOST and CQI
• Day shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
• Weekend hours only apply to on-call rotation
• Call requirements are evenly shared among OR RNs, typically starting at 1700
• May float to PACU to serve as a second RN

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS preferred but can be obtained onsite
• 1-2 years of RN experience in an acute care facility required
• General, endo, ortho, OB, and GYN OR experience required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Facility provides scrubs
• Visible tattoos are acceptable as long as they meet professional standards
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
• Every other weekend coverage required
