Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a current NYS RN license and availability for night shifts with on-call responsibilities.

Details

• Operating Room/ASU setting within a hospital environment
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• 13-week contract assignment
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• On-call required with a 30-minute response time

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Current NYS RN license required
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Preceptorship, charge, and leadership experience preferred for experienced RNs
• Thorough knowledge of nursing principles and ability to assess patient clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs
• Skilled in lethal dysrhythmia interpretation
• Knowledge of clinical equipment and instrumentation used to maintain a safe and aseptic OR/ASU environment
• Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to recognize safety issues and safely use patient lifts

Additional Information

• May be required to assume charge nurse duties
• Must function well under stressful situations with strong problem-solving skills
• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered
